“The spark notes”

Chiropractic care is a natural approach to health and healing that focuses on the relationship between the nervous system's function and a person’s overall wellbeing. By removing spinal dysfunctions (what chiropractors refer to as vertebral subluxations) through gentle and precise adjustments, chiropractors help your nervous system function at its best. Since your nervous system is responsible for all of your bodies functions - this is super important for optimal health and wellness!

  • The nervous system, which includes the brain, spinal cord, and nerves, controls and coordinates ALL the functions of your body (think movement, digestion, sleep, immune function, responses to stress and even social, cognitive, behavioural and emotional skills). It is responsible for transmitting signals between your brain and every other part of your body, ensuring that you can move, think, and maintain overall health.

The spine plays a crucial role in protecting the spinal cord, which is a major component of the nervous system. When the spine is misaligned or experiences stress, it can create interference in the nervous system, disrupting the communication pathways between the brain and the body. This interference can lead to pain, discomfort, and a HUGE variety of health issues.

At ChiroHouse, our approach is simple, we focus on detecting these issues and use adjustments to remove dysfunctions (subluxations) in the spine so that your nerve system can functional optimally. This promotes the body's natural ability to heal, regulate, and thrive.

Some common benefits of a well functioning nervous system are:

    • Improve cognition

    • Regulate heart rate and breathing

    • Improve digestive function

    • Reduce and eliminate pain

    • Increase flexibility and mobility

    • Reduced headaches and migraines

    • Increase energy

    • Improve quality of sleep

    • Improve balance and coordination

  • When our bodies experience stress or tension, it can communicate this symptomatically to us in many different ways. You might see a chiropractor if you’re experiencing any of the following:

    • Lower back pain

    • Neck pain

    • Headaches

    • Poor posture

    • Low immunity

    • Lack of energy

    • Mood swings

    • Poor sleep

    • Poor digestion

    • Brain fog

When our bodies experience these symptoms, it may be a sign that stressors are interfering with your bodies ability to heal, regulate or adapt.

Chiropractic care can help our bodies better respond to these stressors.

  • Similarly to adults, newborns and children experience stress (in many cases due to birth traumas or interventions) which impacts their nervous system resulting in a wide range of symptoms. Nervous system tension in children can manifest in a number of ways:

    • Colic

    • Difficulty feeding

    • Indigestion

    • Difficulty with Sleep

    • Low Immune function

    • Issues with developmental milestones

    • Trouble concentrating

    • Behavioural issues

  • Simply put subluxations are caused by stress on the body.

Stress on the body can be caused by and of the 3 T’s – Thoughts, Traumas and Toxins. Everyone experiences varying degrees of stressors, and how they impact the body and mind depends on the bodies adaptability and resilience.

Traumas can be major (car accident, concussions etc.) or minor (sitting at a desk all day, poor posture, staring down at your phone on the bus).

Toxins are anything negative our bodies are exposed to (alcohol, refined sugars, air quality, chemical cleaning products etc).

Thoughts are any negative thoughts we have about ourselves or our worlds (self image, Iow confidence, stress at work, issues with friends or relationships).
